It very, very quickly builds in this novel, but you already kind of feel it before you even open the first page. And, in the fun little novella Getting Down, you can already feel the tension and attraction between the two. I love that they actually get a Meet Cute before the events of this book. Amalie and Lexington are yet another fantastic couple from Helena Hunting. They might agree that what happens on the island should stay on the island, but neither one can deny that their attraction is more than just physical.įilled with hilariously scandalous situations and enough sexual chemistry to power an airplane from New York City to the South Pacific, Hooking Up is a standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy. She should know better than to sleep with someone she knows, but she can’t seem to resist him.
